The Strypes will this evening play support Paul Weller for a British television show at the Beatles' old Abbey Road studio this week after the Modfather compared the Cavan fourpiece to himself starting out. The former Jam and Style Council frontman personally requested that The Strypes play the Channel 4 TV special 'Live at Abbey Road' after seeing the lads' perform on YouTube. "He's just raving about them," manager Niall Walsh, who is also the father of drummer Evan told the Celt earlier this week. "He sees a lot of himself in the band; he was that age when he started The Jam, and his dad was the manager as well." Weller was only 14 when he started The Jam. Although their preferred genres may be different, the energy The Strypes bring to their live performances are reminiscent of a teenage Weller, as shown by In The City:
