Bailieborough Garda Stations plans progress

The Office of Public Works (OPW) has indicated it's seeking submissions on the plans for the new Bailieborough Garda Station.

The OPW this week published details of the work to be undertaken to convert the former National Irish Bank building into a new Garda station.

The existing building, which is a protected structure, will be refurbished, with a new four storey extension built to the rear to accommodate the new District Headquarters.

The former National Irish Bank in the town was purchased from solicitor Joanne Kangley.

The programme of replacement and refurbishment of Garda accommodation is progressed by the Garda authorities and the OPW.

Details of the plans can be viewed by the public at the OPW offices at Jonathan Swift Street Trim, Meath or in the Bailieboro Garda Station, Barrack St, Bailieboro, Cavan.
