The launch of Cavan Business Women’s Club for 2021 takes place on Friday, March 5, from 11am to 12 noon and is one of the many events scheduled by Local Enterprise Office (LEO) Cavan for Local Enterprise Week.

This professional business women’s network celebrates its eight anniversary in 2021 and boasts a membership of over 65 women in business across County Cavan. With a theme for Local Enterprise Week of ‘Making it Happen’ the launch of the Cavan Business Women’s Club for 2021 will be addressed by two business women who made it happen for their businesses.

Kate Gaynor, managing director of two companies, Advanced Coatings & The Paint Hub, in Carlow will share her insights on growing a business. Within 18 months of her taking over the family business, revenues more than doubled.

Also speaking is Wicklow business woman Rebecca Harrison, managing director of Fishers of Newtownmountkennedy Ltd, independent Irish owned department store, a family business that this year celebrates its 42nd year in business and fourth year trading online. She will share her business story in how she led the business to make significant changes in their business model to accommodate the challenges the business faced.

Cllr Sarah O’Reilly, Cathaoirleach, Cavan County Council will officially launch the Cavan Business Women’s Club for 2021. Marcella Rudden, Head of Enterprise, Local Enterprise Office Cavan will outline the supports available for businesses to develop and grow; and Margaret McKeon-Boyle, coordinator of Cavan Business Women’s Club will act as MC for the event.

Ms Rudden said: “Cavan Business Women’s Club, a professional business women’s network, has been very successful since its launch eight years ago. An initiative of LEO Cavan, through the network we have engaged with some 500 women in business spanning 26 different business sectors and raised the profile of female led businesses in the county. The group have heard from many successful and inspirational business women over the past eight years who have empowered the members to develop and grow their own businesses. LEO Cavan is very happy to continue to support this progressive business women’s network in 2021.”

The 2021 launch of the Cavan Business Women’s Club (CBWC) will take place on Friday, March 5, via Zoom from 11am to 12 noon. Cavan women in business, whether a business owner, an employee in a business or thinking of starting in business are welcome to attend.
