It is with regret that we note the deaths in our community over the past few days, as reported on RIP.ie

Nellie Markey (née O'Dowd)

“Raymere”, Avenue Road., Dundalk, Louth / Cavan

Peacefully, in Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, 16th September 2021. Nellie beloved wife of the late Thomas, dear mother of Sally, Brian, Berni and Tina, loving nana of Stephen, Robin, Ryan, Jack, Tara and Liam and sister of Maureen, Frank, Bridie, Therese, Kathleen, and the late Jack, Kevin, Jimmie, Vincie and Gussie. Nellie will be sadly missed by her son, daughters, grandchildren, brother, sisters, sons in law Ian Needhan, Ciaran Parnell and Stuart Connor, daughter-in-law Mairead, nephews, nieces, relatives, and many friends.

May She Rest in Peace.

Nellie will be reposing at home from 4pm until 8pm on Saturday for family and close friends only. Removal on Sunday afternoon to Church of the Holy Family arriving for Mass at 2.30pm. Cremation afterwards in Lakeland’s Crematorium at 5pm. The capacity of the Church is limited to 50% but the Funeral can be viewed on http://www.theholyfamily.ie/

Rosaleen Smith

College St & formerly Lavey, Cavan Town, Cavan

Friday September 17th 2021, peacefully in the loving care of the staff at Castlemanor Nursing Home, Cavan. Sadly missed by her dear friend Mary & family (Cavan), her sister Madge, brother in law Mike, nieces, Sharon (John), Deirdre (Aidan), nephew, Kevin (Kateri), grand nieces, grand nephews (All U.S.A), all her extended family, good neighbours & many friends.

May she Rest In Peace

Reposing at the Mc Mahon Funeral Home, Farnham Rd., Cavan on Sunday from 2pm, concluding with prayers at 4pm. Funeral Mass in the Cathedral of Saints Patrick & Felim, Cavan on Monday at 11.30am followed by burial in St Dympna's cemetery, Upper Lavey. Condolences to the family can be placed in the section at the bottom of this page.
