Man killed in crash on Cavan-Longford border

Gardaí are appealing for information.

An investigation has been launched after a man was killed in a crash close to the Cavan-Longford border yesterday.

The crash took place on a local road at Cleenrath near Aughnacliffe yesterday afternoon.

A man in his 60s was killed when the car he was driving was involved in a collision with an SUV.

He was pronounced dead at the scene. The two people travelling in the other vehicle were taken to Cavan General Hospital for treatment of their injuries, which are described as non-life threatening.

Gardaí are asking anyone who may have witnessed the collision to contact them. They'd also like anyone with video or dash-cam footage to make this available to them.
