Emergency services attend car fire

Emergency services were quick to react when a car became engulfed in flames near a fuel station on the Dublin Road in Cavan. Gardai and Fire Services attended at the scene near the Circle K station this morning (Saturday January 29).

Gardaí confirmed to the Anglo Celt that both the road and the filling station are now reopened. A spokesperson said: “It was not a bad fire, but because of the location people were very worried.”

Cavan fire services confirmed that two appliances from Cavan Town brigade (CN11) attended a vehicle fire at a service station on the Dublin Road. The driver had pulled in to the station forecourt when they became aware of smoke emitting from the vehicle. Firefighters extinguished the fire using CAFS (compressed air foam system). No one was injured and there was no damage to other vehicles or property.
