Celebrations at Boyle for Men in Monaghan
The official reopening of Boyle for Men on the Diamond in Monaghan Town took place on Saturday, June 27, following an extensive refurbishment of the long-established menswear store.

Members of the Monaghan Special Olympics team attend the official relaunch of Boyle for Men in Monaghan town.The Monaghan Special Olympics team, including gold medallist Terry Treanor, had the honour of cutting the ribbon to officially reopen the store, which has been serving customers in the town for 57 years.
More than 100 people packed into the newly refurbished premises throughout the day to mark the occasion, with shoppers enjoying exclusive discounts and spot prizes as part of the celebrations.
In a post on social media after the event, Boyle for Men thanked everyone who attended.
“It means a great deal to us that so many came to celebrate this special occasion,” the business said.
Speaking after the reopening, proprietor Patrick Boyle said he was delighted with the response from customers and the wider community.
“We were overwhelmed by the turnout. More than 100 people came through the doors to see the refurbished store and the feedback has been fantastic,” he said.
The refurbishment was going on for while but the store had to close for two days to complete the work before unveiling the new look. “We’re delighted with how it all went,” said Patrick.
Mr Boyle said the business would be launching its annual summer sale within the next couple of weeks and thanked customers for their continued loyalty.
Opened by the late Patsy Boyle, Boyle for Men continues to operate stores across Monaghan, Cavan and Cootehill, with the Cootehill original shop trading for 59 years and the Cavan store serving customers for 52 years.
Despite the changing retail landscape and the growth online shopping, Mr Boyle said the business remains firmly focused on customer service.
“You can’t take your eye off the ball. Customer service is what sets us apart. It’s also about looking after our staff, retaining good people and making sure they feel valued. That’s been a huge part of our success over the years.”
