Four people arrested after car arouses suspicion in Kells area

Four people were arrested in the early hours of the morning by gardai following reports of a car acting suspiciously in the Kells area.

According to a post on An Garda Siochana's Meath facebook page, Gardaí made their way to the area and they observed the vehicle in question. The driver failed to stop when signalled to do so by Gardaí.

"The vehicle continued on at excessive speed but was stopped in the North Dublin area a short time later as a result of joint efforts made by Meath North, South and DMR North and West members.

"The driver, who was uninsured, was arrested. Three other arrests were also made. Vehicle was seized. Court proceedings to follow.

"We enforce a ZERO tolerance policy in relation to the dangerous use of vehicles. Should you ever observe a vehicle being driven in a dangerous manner, please try to get the registration number and report the incident to us immediately."

Meath Chronicle has put queries on the matter to the Garda Press Office.
