Truagh make light work of Cremartin challenge

Cremartin 2-11 Truagh 3-15

Truagh have three points from a possible four in the SFC after a convincing win away to Cremartin on Sunday.

Christopher McKenna, Luke H McKenna and Seán O’Connell hit 3-10 between them to send Truagh on the way to their first away win in the SFC since 2022.

Truagh made light of the absence of Louis Kelly and Gary Mohan (with the latter making a brief cameo appearance off the bench) to get the upper hand in the middle third and they also had more cutting edge up front than Cremartin, who were without Jamie Mooney.

Truagh started off on the front foot, although the lively James McKenna fired a goal chance wide and Christopher McKenna had a punch to the net disallowed inside the first four minutes.

A Seán O’Connell point was all they had to show for that early dominance, but despite Cremartin replying through Ciarán Branigan and Éanna Atkinson, they suffered a double blow when Oran McElligott cut out a short kick-out and set up Luke H McKenna to finish the goal Truagh had been threatening, with Oisín Branigan black-carded for hauling down the county U-20 in the process.
